Frequently asked questions

What about scanned PDFs?

Scans have no text. The tool offers to recognize the text first (OCR, Arabic and English, up to 20 pages) on our server.

Are images kept?

No. Markdown output contains the text structure only.

Is my file uploaded?

Not for text PDFs: conversion runs in your browser. Only the optional OCR step uploads the file, which is deleted afterwards.
